Can’t see their window? This gift card lets them choose
One card for everything in our Kitsilano shop: plants, handmade pots and soil. Buy it online as an eGift, or at our counter in any amount.
Buying a plant for someone else is harder than it looks.
Maybe you’ve stood in a shop in December holding a plant, then put it back because you couldn’t remember if their living room gets sun.
When we help someone choose, we ask three things: which way the window faces, where the plant will sit, and whether there are pets at home. You can’t see any of that from the outside.
So a gift card works well here. It lets the one person who knows their windows do the choosing.
Choose an amount
$25 · $50 · $75 · $100 · $150 · Any amount
You type in their email address, and the eGift reaches their inbox within a few minutes. Or pick the day and time you want it to arrive.
Rather buy in person? Pick up a gift card in any amount at our counter, 3742 West 10th Avenue, open 11:00 am to 6:30 pm, seven days a week.
What they get when they come in
A gift card buys more than a plant here. When they come in, we:
- ask which way their window faces, where the plant will sit and if there are pets at home, then show them plants that suit that spot
- help them find a pot that fits the plant and the room, from our glazed pots hand-picked in Vietnam
- tell them how to water it through a Vancouver winter, when plants drink a lot less
They walk out with a plant that suits their window.

Using your card for an online plant order
You can use a DH gift card for any plant in our online shop. Our online checkout can’t read gift cards yet, so for now we do it with you by phone or message.
- Find the plant you want on our online plant shop.
- Call us at (604) 929-7335, or message us on WhatsApp at 236-990-8386, with the plant name and your gift card number.
- We take the amount off your card at the counter and set the plant aside. Pick it up in Kitsilano, or we deliver it on the same terms as our online shop.
Questions
Does a DH gift card expire?
No. A DH gift card has no expiry date. They can use it whenever they’re ready.
How do I check what’s left on a card?
Call us at (604) 929-7335 or ask at the counter. We check the balance on the spot.
How does the eGift arrive?
By email, within a few minutes of your payment. You can also choose a day and time in the future, so it lands on the birthday or the morning of the holiday.
What if the plant costs more, or less, than the card?
They pay the difference at the counter, and anything left stays on the card for next time.
What can they spend it on?
Anything in our Kitsilano shop: indoor plants, glazed ceramic pots, soil and potting mixes, and everything else on the shelves.
Can they use it on your online plant shop?
Yes. For now it works by phone or WhatsApp, not at the online checkout. The steps are just above.
Can I buy a gift card in the store?
Yes, in any amount, at the counter, any day from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm.
Is it only for the holidays?
No. It works just as well for a birthday, a new home or a thank you, any time of year.
They don’t know much about plants. Is that a problem?
Not at all. That’s what the counter is for. We’ll ask the three questions and help them choose.
For the holidays, a birthday or a new home, a DH gift card lets them choose a plant they’ll be glad to see every morning.
P.S. Giving it in person? Write the three questions inside your card: Which way does your window face? Where will the plant sit? Any pets? They’ll walk in ready.
